A woman was seriously injured on Friday morning, June 20, due to the fall of remnants of an Iranian missile intercepted by Israeli aircraft between the towns of Kahil and Taybah in the Daraa countryside.
A correspondent from Enab Baladi in Daraa reported that remnants of the Iranian missile fell on a tent between the towns of Kahil and Taybah, resulting in the injury of a woman from the Bedouin community in As-Suwayda governorate who lives in the eastern Daraa countryside. She was transferred to the National Hospital in Daraa.
Meanwhile, Israeli aircraft intercepted two drones in the north of the city of Jasim, east of Daraa, and another drone near the Nassib border crossing with Jordan.
Additionally, on Thursday, June 19, an Iranian drone fell in the town of Imtan in the southern As-Suwayda countryside without causing any damage, and a ballistic missile landed near Waqm village in the western As-Suwayda countryside after being intercepted by Israeli aircraft in an open area, with no recorded material or human losses, according to the Suwayda 24 website, which focuses on news from As-Suwayda governorate.
The recurring incidents of drone crashes and missile remnants falling in southern Syria come amidst escalating mutual bombardments between Israel and Iran, due to Iranian missiles crossing into Israel over Syrian airspace.
Since the beginning of the Israeli-Iranian military escalation on June 13, the skies over Syria have witnessed a series of explosions in the provinces of As-Suwayda, Daraa, Quneitra, and the rural Damascus area of southern Syria, resulting from the interception of missiles presumed to be Iranian in the airspace.
Amid this escalation, Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disasters, Raed al-Saleh, warned against approaching any unfamiliar object or debris resulting from the incidents, calling on citizens not to gather or climb onto rooftops to observe the passage of missiles, according to the official Syrian news agency (SANA).
Al-Saleh emphasized the importance of contacting emergency teams from the Syria Civil Defence in case of any fires or human and material damages, and advised against touching any foreign object, leaving the handling to engineering teams or teams responsible for removing remnants of war.
Israel began aerial bombardments on various areas in Iran, including the capital Tehran, on June 13. Israeli fighters crossed Syrian and Iraqi airspace.
Tehran responded with drones and missiles, some of which were intercepted by Tel Aviv, and some fell in Syria and Jordan.
