The Israeli army released three Syrian detainees from Daraa and Quneitra governorates in southern Syria on Wednesday, September 9.
Enab Baladi’s correspondent reported that the released men had been detained for periods ranging from one to two months.
The correspondent said the Israeli army released Mohammad Qasim al-Mousa, from al-Malaqa in the southern Quneitra countryside, after two months in detention.
Kamal Yusuf al-Qasim and Raslan Adel Saeed al-Hassan were also released. The correspondent said both men are from Abidin in the western Daraa countryside and had each been detained for one month.
The Sijil Center, which specializes in documenting Israeli violations in Syria, said in a report issued earlier in September that Israeli forces were continuing to hold 43 Syrians.
Based on those figures, 40 Syrian detainees remain in Israeli prisons following the latest releases.
The release of the Syrian detainees coincided with a meeting between a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross and several families of Syrians held in Israeli prisons.
Enab Baladi’s correspondent in Quneitra said the meeting took place during a tour by the Red Cross delegation in Rafid and Kudna, in the southern Quneitra countryside.
The correspondent said the tour focused on residents’ demands and needs amid the practices, violations, and encroachments carried out against them by the Israeli occupation authorities.
Recent weeks have seen a series of releases of Syrian detainees from Israeli prisons.
On August 26, the Israeli army released four detainees.
Three detainees had previously been released on August 19, in addition to two detainees on August 5.
Four people from Quneitra and Daraa governorates were also released in July.
The releases come amid periodic protests organized by residents demanding the release of their detained relatives.
Israel continues to carry out arrests of young men in southern Syria. Some detentions last for hours, while in other cases detainees are held for longer periods without any information about the details or conditions of their detention.
The Sijil Center documented 267 violations committed by Israeli occupation forces inside Syrian territory during August.
The center’s statistics showed that Israeli violations in August increased by 43% compared with July, when 187 violations were recorded. The figure was also about 12% higher than in June, which recorded 239 violations.
According to the Sijil Center, August recorded the second highest monthly number of Israeli violations since the beginning of 2026, after March, when 321 violations were documented. The August figure also exceeded the 254 violations recorded in April.
The center’s data showed that Israeli forces committed 1,752 violations inside Syria from the beginning of 2026 through the end of August.
