Arab opposition to Israeli escalation in Syria has intensified following a strike in the western Damascus countryside, amid continuing Israeli attacks on Syrian territory.

Arab countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, and Jordan, along with the Muslim World League, condemned an Israeli drone strike on a car traveling on the road between the Beit Jinn farm area and Beit Jinn (western Damascus countryside, southwestern Syria).

The countries expressed solidarity with Syria and rejected all forms of violence, terrorism, and attacks on Syrian territory.

The Qatari and Saudi foreign ministries affirmed their support for the Syrian government in the measures it is taking to maintain security and stability and combat extremism and terrorism.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti and Yemeni foreign ministries stressed that the Israeli strike constituted a violation of Syria’s sovereignty and a breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The two countries called on the international community and the UN Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities and exert pressure to halt repeated Israeli attacks on Syria, warning of the repercussions of continued escalation for the region’s security and stability.

The Muslim World League also reaffirmed its rejection of violence and terrorism in all forms and under all pretexts, expressing solidarity with Syria and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also condemned the strike, describing the attack as a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a breach of international law.

In a statement, the ministry said the strike came as part of repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory. It held Israel fully responsible for their repercussions and called on the international community and the UN Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities, work to stop the attacks, and put an end to Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty.

Beit Jinn Strike

An Israeli drone targeted a car on August 22 on the road between the Mazraat Beit Jinn area and Beit Jinn, injuring Ammar Saeed Hamada, according to Enab Baladi’s correspondent in Quneitra.

The correspondent cited an unnamed security source in the area, who was not authorized to speak to the media, as saying that Hamada was carrying out private work and was not performing any military task at the time of the strike.

The official al-Ikhbariya Syrian television channel reported that one person was injured when an Israeli drone targeted a car in Beit Jinn, without providing further details.

The Israeli military, by contrast, said its forces opened fire in southern Syria on a person it described as a “terrorist.” Israeli Army Radio cited a security source as saying the targeted individual had been planning attacks against Israeli forces and that the planning had reached its final stages.

Repeated Israeli Escalation

The latest strike on Beit Jinn comes amid a series of Israeli operations and attacks targeting the town in recent months, including shelling that killed and injured people, as well as incursions and military operations.

On November 28, 2025, 13 civilians, including women and children, were killed and 24 others were injured in Israeli shelling of Beit Jinn, Enab Baladi reported at the time. Six Israeli soldiers were also injured in clashes that followed an Israeli incursion into the town aimed at arresting several young men.

The Israeli military also announced on February 10 that it had carried out an operation in the Beit Jinn area that it said targeted a weapons storage facility belonging to the “Islamic Group,” a Lebanese movement that denied at the time having any activity outside Lebanon.
