The Israeli army fired several artillery shells at farmland near Hamidiyah town in central Quneitra countryside, southern Syria, on Sunday, July 19.
Enab Baladi’s correspondent reported that explosions heard across central Quneitra countryside were caused by Israeli forces stationed at the Hamidiyah base firing three shells toward agricultural land surrounding the town. No casualties were reported among residents.
The correspondent added that another Israeli patrol entered eastern Al-Samdaniyah and searched residents on the main road connecting the Khan Arnabeh area with villages to the south. No arrests were reported.
As part of other Israeli movements in the area, a patrol advanced toward Ruwayhina Dam in central Quneitra countryside on Saturday, July 18, while several residents were at the site. Residents confronted the patrol, prompting it to withdraw without further incident, according to the Quneitra Media Directorate.
Another Israeli force, consisting of six military vehicles, entered the area around Kudna Dam as Israeli drones flew overhead. The force later withdrew.
Israeli Drone Targets Abdin-Maariya Road
An Israeli drone dropped two sound bombs on the Abdin-Maariya road in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside on Saturday, July 18.
Enab Baladi’s correspondent reported that the attack occurred near the al-Arida neighborhood. It caused no injuries or material damage, despite several vehicles being on the road at the time.
The correspondent explained that the attack followed local young men’s decision to close the road again. An Israeli patrol consisting of three vehicles and a tracked bulldozer had reopened it after entering the area on Friday, July 17.
Israeli forces entered the village of Maariya amid heavy gunfire, which frightened residents. No casualties were reported.
Israeli army vehicles removed stone barriers to reopen roads that village residents had previously blocked as part of their efforts to resist repeated incursions and prevent Israeli vehicles from entering their community.
Villages and towns in the Daraa and Quneitra countrysides have faced repeated Israeli army incursions, which have sometimes included arrest campaigns and the intimidation of residents.
The Syrian government has avoided a military response, limiting its actions to condemnations and diplomatic measures while calling for a return to the lines established under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
The series of Israeli incursions began after the fall of the former Syrian regime on December 8, 2024. Israel claims the operations are intended to protect its national security.
