The director of the Hasya industrial city, Talal Zuaib, stated that the number of investment requests in the city has reached 90 applications since the fall of the previous regime on December 8, 2024.

Zuaib explained that the submitted investment requests come from a number of local and expatriate investors, in addition to several Arab and foreign investors, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The director of the industrial city pointed out that the total area of the new investment requests in Hasya industrial city is estimated at about 1,131,742 square meters.

Zuaib did not detail the nature of the investment activities for these projects and their specializations, indicating that the growing investment activity in the city currently includes various food, textile, engineering, and chemical industries that support the reconstruction process.

The investment demand is accompanied by hundreds of external communications aimed at securing an investment location within the industrial city, considering that Hasya represents a promising investment attraction for various industrial sectors, especially with the upcoming issuance of the investment system for industrial cities.

Zuaib noted in a previous statement that measures and procedures for investors, such as electronic payment, have been simplified, in addition to working on modifying and developing the investment system, allowing investors and industrialists to deal in foreign currency and granting customs exemptions on the import of machinery needed for work within industrial cities.

The industrial city is located in Homs governorate on the international road between Homs and Damascus in the Hasya region, giving it an important geographical location. The total area of the city is 2,500 hectares, and it includes food, engineering, chemical, and textile industries.

By 2010, Syria had four major traditional industrial cities: the Adra industrial city in the Damascus countryside northeast of the capital, the Sheikh Najjar industrial city in Aleppo, the industrial city in Hasya south of Homs city, and the industrial city in Deir Ezzor.

After 2011, and following the exit of areas in Syria from the control of the regime, many industrial areas and cities were established in northern Syria. In northern Aleppo countryside, there are five industrial zones, and in Idlib, there is the Bab al-Hawa industrial city.
