Military Operations Administration opens settlement centers for former regime elements
The Military Operations Administration announced the opening of centers to settle the security status of the ousted Assad regime elements in Deir Ezzor province.
The administration stated yesterday, Tuesday, December 17, that all elements of the Assad regime must visit the settlement centers in Deir Ezzor to complete the reconciliation procedures and receive temporary cards starting from today.
The administration urged all elements to bring all documents, equipment, and possessions they have, under the threat of legal prosecution in case of non-compliance or providing incorrect or incomplete information.
Four settlement centers were opened in Deir Ezzor, namely the western district center in Deir Ezzor city, the courthouse building in al-Asharah city, the courthouse building in al-Mayadeen city, and the former Baath party building in al-Bukamal city.
Following the collapse of the Syrian regime on December 8, the Military Operations Administration began opening settlement centers in several Syrian provinces, with centers now opened in six provinces.
These centers aim to reconcile the situations of defectors from the regime’s army and grant them temporary cards “to facilitate their movement,” and to hand over their weapons to prevent any security breaches.
The Military Operations Administration has also opened a settlement center for the ousted Assad regime elements in the military security building in Daraa city yesterday, for completing reconciliation procedures and receiving the temporary card.
On December 15, the administration announced the opening of two reconciliation centers in Latakia province, one at the smart card issuance center near the municipality building in Jableh and the other at the Law Enforcement Battalion next to the new traffic department in Latakia city.
Additionally, on December 14, a settlement center for regime elements was opened next to the police command in Homs city, and another reconciliation center in the Hama police command.
On the same day, the Military Operations Administration announced the opening of reconciliation centers for regime elements in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo, specifically at the Maaret Misrin police station and the al-Dana police station north of Idlib.
The first settlement center opened by the Military Operations Administration was on December 6, when it announced that it was conducting settlements for defectors from the regime in Aleppo city, granting them temporary cards “to facilitate their movement within the city.”
The reception centers for applications in Aleppo were specified at four locations: the al-Saliheen, al-Shahbaa, Bab al-Faraj, and Bab al-Nasr police stations.
Photos published by Free Aleppo Administration showed dozens of individuals who it claimed were defectors from the regime applying for temporary cards and settling their situations; however, it did not specify the number of applicants.
Opposition factions began military operations under the name “Deterrence of Aggression” on November 27, advancing into the neighborhoods of Aleppo and subsequently taking control of Hama and Homs until they reached Damascus and declared the regime’s downfall.
