The commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, spoke about an agreement between his forces and the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) engaged in the Military Operations Administration, which controls the capital Damascus and most of Syria’s territory.

In an interview with Ronahi Channel on Thursday, December 12, Abdi stated that the SDF has agreements with Tahrir al-Sham concerning the provinces of Aleppo and Deir Ezzor, noting that there is an agreement regarding both eastern and western Deir Ezzor.

Abdi mentioned that Tahrir al-Sham informed the SDF about their military operation, indicating that the areas controlled by the SDF are not their target.

Tahrir al-Sham no longer officially declares or presents itself as a military faction since the launch of the Military Operations Administration the battle of “Deterrence of Aggression” on November 27, and everything related to it falls under the activities of the Military Operations Administration.

The Military Operations Administration took control of a part of Deir Ezzor province located west of the Euphrates River at the expense of the SDF on Wednesday, December 11, as part of the “Deterrence of Aggression” campaign.

The SDF is working on “preparing the atmosphere to send a delegation to Damascus for dialogue,” seeking discussions with the transitional government, according to Abdi.

He pointed out that the SDF does not pose a threat to Turkish security and is ready to engage in dialogue with Turkey.

Regarding the ongoing battles between the SDF and the Syrian National Army (SNA) in the Aleppo countryside, Abdi stated that any attack on the city of Ain al-Arab/Kobani will face historic resistance.

As for Manbij, the factions of the National Army did not comply with their withdrawal from Manbij, according to the agreement in which the International Coalition was a part, and they did not cease their attacks towards the Tishreen Dam, according to Abdi.

The factions of the National Army announced their control over the city of Manbij in the eastern Aleppo countryside on Sunday, December 8, within the framework of their “Dawn of Freedom” operation against the forces of Bashar al-Assad and the SDF.

However, the SDF denied in a statement issued by the Manbij Military Council at that time that the city had been controlled, stating that pages affiliated with the National Army claimed control over the city to “cover up their failure.”

The commander of the SDF, Mazloum Abdi, stated via his account on “X” on Wednesday, “We have reached an agreement to cease fire in Manbij with US mediation, in order to preserve the safety and security of civilians.”

He added that fighters from the Manbij Military Council affiliated with the SDF will be evacuated from the area as soon as possible, indicating that the goal is to cease fire across all Syrian territories and move toward a political process “for the future of the country,” as he stated.
