The participating military factions in the “Deterrence of Aggression” operation announced their control over new villages and points in the western Aleppo countryside and the commencement of preparations for a new axis east of Idlib.
The Military Operations Administration stated via its Telegram account today, Thursday, November 28, that the opposition factions continue their advance in the western Aleppo countryside, successfully seizing the villages and towns of Arnaz, Kafr Bessin, Basartun, Sheikh Ali, the oil plant barrack, and the Second Engineers’ Rif, while continuing to comb the surrounding areas to ensure complete security and drive out Iranian militias from the region.
The spokesman for the Military Operations Administration, Major Hassan Abdul Ghani, mentioned that the military factions, within the framework of the “Deterrence of Aggression” operation, executed a new preemptive strike in the eastern Idlib countryside, indicating the “collapse” of the fortifications of the regime forces and their allied militias.
Operations in the eastern Idlib countryside led to the factions’ control of the village of Dadikh and its hill in the southeastern Idlib countryside.
On Wednesday, the opposition factions had seized control of villages and towns in the Aleppo countryside and expelled the regime forces and their allied militias just hours after launching the “Deterrence of Aggression” operation.
The number of points taken over by the factions reached 16, including villages, towns, and military positions in addition to the 46th Regiment.
The towns and villages are Ainjara, Qabtan al-Jabal, Sheikh Aqil, Bala, Hayr Drekel, al-Saloum, al-Maari Association, al-Qasimiya, Kafr Bessin, Hur, Ajil, Orm al-Sughra, al-Houta, al-Saadiya Association, and Orm al-Kubra.
They also announced their acquisition of five tanks, a BMP vehicle, and a missile depot of the Kornet type.
The number of regime prisoners during the operation reached 20 elements, including two from the Iranian militias.
On the other hand, areas in the western Aleppo countryside and areas in Idlib adjacent to the combat front lines witnessed displacement to safer regions within northern Syria.
Additionally, regime and Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes targeting residential areas in the Idlib and Aleppo countryside, alongside artillery and missile shelling that resulted in civilian casualties, including the death of a woman in the city of Sarmin in eastern Idlib, according to the Syria Civil Defence.
The Civil Defence reported that yesterday’s shelling affected more than 16 cities, towns, and villages, resulting in the death of a child and injuring 20 other civilians, including nine children and six women.
The Civil Defence added that the regime and Russia executed “systematic attacks” using warplanes, artillery shells, and missiles carrying cluster bombs targeting the city of al-Atarib in western Aleppo and its vicinity, along with the village of al-Qasr.
While official media outlets ignore the opposition’s announcements, regime loyalist media outlets and platforms only publish news related to skirmishes in the area, referring to them as “repositioning,” while loyalist journalists report on the execution of airstrikes on opposition-controlled areas in northwestern Syria.
