Turkey has sent armoured security cabins to its military observation posts which are spread in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo in Syria.

Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency posted today, 4 February, a video showing the entry of three trucks, loaded with six armoured security cabins into Syria.

Anadolu did not clarify the deployment locations of the armoured security cabins within the Turkish posts in Syria.

Anadolu reported that these armoured security cabins are secure against bullets and explosion attacks.  Fierce clashes are occurring between the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army, and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) on the one side and the Russian and  Syrian regime forces along with their supporting militias on the other side in the rural areas of Idlib and Aleppo.

Six Turkish troops were killed, and seven others were wounded in a Syrian regime airstrike on Idlib, northwestern Syria, last Sunday, according to the Turkish Ministry of Defence.

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced in a press conference yesterday, Monday, 3 February, that Turkish forces in Idlib launched 122 artillery and 100 mortar shells, at 46 Syrian government targets in retaliation.

The task of the Turkish posts is to monitor any ceasefire violations by the regime forces, which ironically re-took control within two years over areas in the de-escalation zones. Moreover, the Turkish posts were meant to play a vital role in implementing the de-escalation agreement on strategic areas in Idlib and Hama. However, the Turkish posts failed to do their tasks, which leads to questioning the benefit of these posts.

The Turkish Armed forces established four new observation posts in the vicinity of Saraqib city in the southern Idlib countryside, which the regime is trying to control it to capture the international highway “M5”.
