At least 897 medical facilities, 1,453 places of worship, and 1,675 schools were attacked, some multiple times, with the regime, Russia, and Iran responsible for about 86% of the total according to the report.
More than half of the Syrian people are either refugees or internally displaced, with approximately 13.4 million Syrians internally displaced or seeking refuge in other countries since 2011.
Despite the issuance of 23 “amnesty” decrees by regime’s president Bashar al-Assad since 2011, there are concerns over the fate of about 113,000 Syrian citizens still subjected to enforced disappearance, about 86% of whom are at the hands of the Syrian regime.
The report highlighted the regime and Russia’s destruction of vast areas in many Syrian provinces, uprooting millions of Syrians from their lands and homes, and pushing them towards forced displacement. It also pointed to the international community’s failure to resolve the Syrian conflict, achieve political transition, as well as the failure of the United Nations Security Council in implementing relevant resolutions.
